and how electricity is produced. Tour the dam, the power station and
other buildings situated in a natural setting dominated by the powerful
falls on the Sainte-Anne-du-Nord River. Hiking trails with interpretation

Explore a spectacular cascading waterfall that plunges from a height
of 65 m (215’) in a pristine wilderness setting. Footpath, belvederes
and picnic tables.
Cap Tourmente Wildlife Area
Route 360 West (towards Quebec City).
Only 5 minutes from the Val-des-Neiges Hotel.
The Cap Tourmente Wildlife Area comprises the flats across from Île
d’Orléans, as well as boardwalks, belvederes and groomed
trails that allow you to watch a number of bird species up close,
including the gracious snow geese that arrive in large numbers in
the spring and fall. A must-see in the Greater Quebec Area.
Grosse Île and the Irish Memorial

Visit this former quarantine station, where thousands of Irish immigrants
fleeing the potato famine died during the massive epidemics of the
1840s. Today, Grosse Île is home to both the Irish Memorial
and a national park; it still appears haunted by the memory of this
human tragedy. This mysterious island is located off the point of
Île d’Orléans and across from Cap Tourmente.
