Saint-Féréol-les-Neiges
Located a few kilometres from the Val-des-Neiges Hotel, this roadway
(Route 360 East) borders Mont-Sainte-Anne and has a few steep hills
to climb. Once past the village, the roadway winds through fields
and the boreal forest. Visit the outdoor interpretation centre at
Sept-Chutes. Picnic tables and services. If you are still up to it,
head out for Saint-Tite-des-Caps.
Saint-Joachim (Cap Tourmente)
Do you like bird watching and cycling? Then take Route 360 West (towards
Quebec City), turn right just before the Val-des-Neiges Hotel and
follow chemin du Cap Tourmente to the St. Lawrence River, where you
find the Cap Tourmente Wildlife Area. This preserve comprises the
flats across from Île d’Orléans, as well as boardwalks,
belvederes and groomed trails that allow you to watch a number of
bird species up close, including the gracious snow geese that arrive
in large numbers in the spring and fall. A must-see in the Greater
Quebec Area.
Beaupré Coast
As you leave the Val-des-Neiges Hotel, turn right onto Route 360 West
(towards Quebec City). Also known as the “New France Route”,
this beautiful roadway through the countryside follows the Beaupré
Coast to Quebec City. It is aptly named, as it is one of the oldest
roads in Quebec. Ancestral homes, some of which date back to the 17th
century, fields and fresh produce stands dot the landscape. Your itinerary
will include stops at many interesting sites, like the famous St.
Anne’s Basilica in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, maple farms,
vineyards, farmers’ markets, interpretation centres, economuseums
and shops selling handicrafts and homemade products.
Montmorency Falls Park
The Montmorency Falls and Park are located on the outskirts of Quebec
City. Suspended bridge over the falls, belvederes and gondola to the
top of the falls. Contact the Groupe Dufour for more information on
the cruise under the stars and the Grands
Feux Loto-Québec fireworks competition, a fascinating pyrotechnic
event held during the summer.
Ile d’Orléans
Explore Île d’Orléans, an island paradise only
a short distance from Quebec City and the adopted home of famous poet/singer
Félix Leclerc. Quaint villages, ancestral homes, vineyards,
interpretation centres, economuseums, antique dealers and food products
straight from the farm are waiting to be discovered!
Isle-aux-Coudres
Isle-aux-Coudres, a delightful, natural treasure nestled between the
sea and the mountains, is very popular with amateur bike tourists.
The island has gentle slopes and lush, green fields, with a few belvederes,
sea gulls, historical wind mills and monuments sprinkled for good
measure. Located halfway between Charlevoix and the South Shore, Isle-aux-Coudres
developed its maritime heritage through necessity, but the hospitality
of its residents comes from within.
